Hi !

On what information is the fact based that the plane was a fighter ?

For crashes of 19/05/1944 Kiel-Soltenau claims to have salvaged two B17's,one which crashed at the Professor-Peters-Platz ,the other one near Bleckendorf.

Best regards

Luc

Hallo Nils,
Small parts of JG1+11 attacked the bombers on their way back (for  the second time on this day!) with some
claims.
What do you think about this claim in the vicinity of Kiel:
15.14 hour, Oblt. Engau, 2./JG11, P-51
north-east of Kiel (no hight), (confirmed).

Concerning the aerial battles on the 19th of May 1944
over Central-Germany you may find infos
in the thread:
19 May 1944 - 367thFG, 370thFG - 9th AF
on 09/06/2007 -->Fighters

Regards,
rauhbautz

Hi all,

just read all your posting here !
I will check it all tomorrow, because here in Germany it´s midnight now :-)

P-38J-15-LO   #43-28470 Kirkpatrick, Howard V. crashed at the village "Stellau / Wrist" near Itzehoe, Germany on May 22, 1944

On interest are here now a downed fighter on May 19, 1944 at, or near Kiel this day.
The diary of the Marineflak reported about a crash of a allied fighter...

The crashed B-17 at the "Professor-Peters-Platz" in Kiel I reported on my website:
http://www.spurensuchesh.de/fzkielprof.htm

The crash site of B-17 42-39783 is on my list, but is not researched.

Tomorrow more !

Nils

To the notice of rauhbatz, about the claim of Oblt. Engau 2./JG11, P-51, north-east of Kiel,
I have no informations. More details are welcome !

The P-51 42-103342 5Q-  (O´Sullivan) crashed at 15.25 south of Kiel. Here I have found a time witness and a crash site on a map received. We will researched may this year the area.

The fighter I´m looking for crashed in the city of Kiel at 13.40

Regards
Nils
