Douglas C-47-DL 41-18648 c/n6009 Sumax 12/01/1943 named "Starduster" With 21st TCS. On 21/11/43 LWT flight Rockhampton-Archerfield. On 22/06/48, airframe located 6 miles Nth and 35 miles West of Monto (SW Rockhampton) by stockman F.A. Smith in a steep gully between two high hills in timbered country; Starboard wing had separated in flight & aircraft spun in; MACR #1220 quotes pilot as 1st Lt Victor Noah Gibson MACR 1220.
