I am trying to find information on my uncle that was in the AAFS. I was told growing up that he was in the 8th Air force on a B-17 as a bombardier but after doing some research I was told by a family member that he was part of the 48th Fighter squad? I am trying to send away for his record but have not received yet. Most of my family has past on and its hard to information other then the Internet! His name was Nathaniel Abbt (Nate) and was from Grafton, NY.

Any information or when I could find some would be great appreciated!

Transferred to North Africa 11/42.
Then Mediterranean Theatre .
