Thought I would post this for two reasons, one because I am interested in the answer and two because it has been awhile since we've had a new thread.
In looking at all of the MACR's for the group, it appears to me that the mission that the group lost the most planes was the June 6, 1944 Ploesti mission. I am defining the term 'lost' here as an MACR was created. I count six crews with MACR's for that date, including MACR 5476. That MACR is for the Mills crew of the 778 who were shot down on 6/6/44 instead of 5/6/44.
So throwing it out there, was this the 464's "costliest" mission?
