In 1923, it is the Flying school of Istres. At the beginning of the Second World War, many units of the Air Force are present on the ground. During the year 1943, the German army arranges an important air base with a runway of 2400 meters from where the bombers take off which attack the allied maritime convoys in the Mediterranean, 2, P 38 are hit by Flak: that of Lieutenant TORGESEN, crashed on the ground, the pilot bailed out and is made prisoner; less lucky, Lieutenant TRACY finds death with Camaret on Aygues.
