It took me a little while to figure out why today, 26 June, was sticking in my mind but then I remembered. Sixty-four years ago today, the 455th BG lead the raid against the oil refineries at Moosbierbaum, Austria, earning the Group’s second Distinguished Unit Citation. So in memory of the crews of the ten planes that did not return, and to those who lived through that day, thank you.
