There is a 11 BG H organization that still has reunions. One is coming up soon. If you write to Phil at 11bga@cox.net he will be able to help you. He lost a brother in the 11 BG H. 11bga@cox.net

Hi Ted. I don't know what you already have regarding your uncle, but I have a crew photo or two, and maybe a report and some info for you on this loss. Jessee

Ted, Search has been subject on this forum before: http://forum.armyairforces.com/m_5391/tm.htm He entered service at LA on 6 Nov 1941. His civil profession is given as being an actor... MACR database has B-24 42-73018 of 11th BG missing on 28 Jul 1944 (MACR 7132), but I don't know if this one is related to your uncle's loss. Summary on footnote.com gives Kwajalein as point of departure. This B-24 carried the name "Patches". It may be possible that your uncle died in a crash on an earlier date and that he was only declared dead on 28 July 1944. Regards, Leendert

When did your uncle begin serving? My Grandfathers diary has an entry from December 4th, 1943: "Saturday #5 We were awakened at 3AM to eat and prepare for takeoff at 600. Left Funa Futi at 6 on the head and flew #3 position for Hamrin (I think - his handwriting is not great)..." -Jake
Grandson of Harold R Hennes, Co-Pilot with the 431st Bomb Squadron, 11th Bomb Group, 7th Air Force. 30 missions flown from 11/43-5/44.
