"The Piggy Back "Flight - Hamburg , Dec 31, 1944

During this mission the 100thBG sustained heavy casualties coming off the target. Two B-17s # 43-38457 & #42-31987 accidentally slammed together, one on top of the other in a jarring midair collision. Both planes remained intact but jammed together. Amazingly they  maintained forward flight . The pilot 1st. Lt. William McNab and his Co-Pilot 2nd Lt. Nelson Vaughn in #43-38457 named
"Nine Lives" were  flying in the lower  position  and were both killed on impact . The fortress in the upper position #42-31987 was named " The Little Skipper" was piloted by1st Lt. Glenn Rojohn and Co-Pilot 2nd Lt. William Leek.
This is ALL the information I have on this mission. I would like to find out if there is additional information on this mission and this unusual incident.
Additional information welcome.
