I recently finished reading

THE FEW
The American Knights of the Air Who Risked Everything
to Fight in the Battle of Britain

by
Alex Kershaw

This book looks at the careers of several American pilots who joined the RAF and fought in the Battle of Britain in 1940.  It is especially detailed about the experience of Art Donahue, Gene Tobin, Andy Mamedoff and Vernon "Shorty" Keough.  Keough was probably the shortest pilot in the RAF and needed two huge pillows in order to manipulate the controls of the airplane.  The book also gives a Luftwaffe perspective, touching on the careers of Werner Molders and Adolph Galland.  The book was a quick read and entertaining.  I recommend this book.
