I have Leland Weber, the author, in the 308th Group Roster as a Navigator, but assigned squadron is not listed.

I have this B-24 listed with the 374BS. The crew pictured with this nose art is also posed in front of DAMSEL EASY 374BS and UBANGI BAG III 374BS.  Miles is kneeling, 2nd from left in front of TIME WILL TELL; kneeling, far right in front of DAMSEL EASY; standing, 2nd from right in front of UBANGI BAG III.
I am unfamiliar with the "Lone Wolf" claim. I asked my father, and he has no such recollection, either. All the squadrons sent single B-24s out on anti-shipping patrols over the South China Sea, from Saigon to Formosa. Late in the War, all the radar equipped "snoopers" were transferred to the 373BS for combat operations, while the 374, 375, & 425 BSs were used for Hump supply missions.  In July 1945, the 373BS was transferred to the 7AF 494BG on Okinawa.  Maybe then, they called themselves the Lone Wolf squadron?

In the crew photo of "Time Will Tell" -- most of the men are wearing the "wombat" logo of the 374th BS on their jackets.  But the second guy from the right, standing in the back row, has a 373rd patch on his.

There is mention of "Lone Wolf" pilots in the 460th BG...

"During World War II, a select few bomber crews from the 15th Air Force flew special missions out of Italy against targets in range of the B-24 Liberator. Flying at night without escorts and in groups of only two or three bombers, these "Lone Wolf" pilots served as pathfinders for the main assault."
