Stripped for Action ground crew
-
01/04/2007 06:07:52 PM
Great to find this site. I know almost nothing of what my dad did, except for some photos. He was a sargent, and was one of the mechanics for" Stripped for Action". His name is Ernest C. Norman, master sargent. A good man. Any info available would be helpful, as there's not much on the net about the ground crews on these planes. I do know that they played a critical role in keeping the aircraft flying the missions safely. Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'd like to get a look at the book mentioned" 73rd Bomb Wing, An Illustrated History". Any ideas where to get/see? Is Jim McHugh still checking this site? Anyway, thanks again. Lee

Lee, I have two pictures of A Sq 32 which I would be more than happy to Email to you. Please Email me with your address and I'll send them to you. I have a copy of the book, "73rd BW - An Illustrated History" and can tell you more about it as well. Also, the 73rd Bomb Wing will be holding it's annual reunion beginning May 2 through May 6, 2007 in Covington, KY. I can provide complete details if you want. It's a fantastic reunion. Lee, I checked Amazon.com this morning (Saturday, Jan 6, 2007) and found that there is one new copy of "73rd Bomb Wing - An Illustrated History" listed for $54.95. There are also 9 used copies for sale priced between $45.00 and $54.95. I purchased a used copy last year from Amazon for $33.44. It was in excellent shape. Hope this helps. Ken Fine
