Spitfire Mk V loss in Corsica - 08/03/2008 12:29:38 PM
Hello everyone from France

The remain completely disintegrated of an Spitfire that we identifiedas an possible type Mk Vb, was discovered under 100 feets of deep closeto the Capo Nero, at the N/O side of the Propriano'bay, few 15 milessouth of Ajacco (Campo-del-Oro airdrome).

The weckage is in bad shape because the plane percuted violentely the see surface and desintegrated.

It is possible that the pilot bailled out before the Spit did an great turn on his left before it sunk.

The search in the french data base don't give any direction to help ourteam, also, is possible that this plane belonged at the 31st or 52nd FGas also an british'plane.

I send this same message in copy to the 52nd FG.

Thank for an possible help

Philippe
