S Sgt Ellis E. Montgomery

Good day all,

I am trying to find out any information about S SGT Ellis E. Montgomery of Superior, Neb..  According to what I know he was MIA over Kassel 01/01/1945 with the 407th BS. He is the youngest brother of my grandmother who is deceased. Was he assigned to 92BG before this flight ?  According to the story told to me by my father, he , Ellis was sitting in a depot, having completed his tour, to go home. A request for volunteers was made and he went to never return.
Any help with this or people who knew him would be awesome!!!!!!!

Great Thanks,

Gary Doxon
Maywood, Ne

Thank you for the info so far, I've become hungry for more. Your help is wonderful. I'll take all I can get. Does anyone know if the plane he was on had a name? Or was it an extra? I hope to get his service record soon. The MACR # was it 11372 or 11371?

    Once again, THANKS to all!!!!

    Gary
