Request for Info on Dad's Crew
-
01/13/2004 04:42:42 AM
I am the oldest son of T/Sgt Joseph P. White (310th BG, 381st Sq), who flew 67 missions out of Corsica from May through November, 1944. Dad was a B-25 Radio Op/Waist Gunner. He died of a stroke in 1998.
Thanks to Mr. George Underwood, Mr. Dominique Taddei and serendipity, I've been provided with the names of my Dad's fellow crew members *and* a photo of Dad's first plane, 43-27561. The photo portrays the aftermath of a belly landing upon return from a raid on the Vernio Aquaduct Bridge, 22-Jun-44 (the 310th's worst day).

If anyone has any info on any of these crew members, I'd like to hear from you. I won't bother you, or anything. I'm just interested in the *human* side of war, i.e. things that Maxwell AF Base may not be able to provide.
Here's a list of my Dad's crew members from his first, then 21st mission:
