Hello All -
I wish to inform you about my Uncle Robert C. Sage. I received a phone call from my mother this evening telling me that my uncle had an MRI which discovered bone cancer in his lower spine.
He is now in a Mercy facility and the doctor has given him approximately six to eight weeks. He is not eating, because according to my mother he does not like the food, and two, he has a hard time swallowing. Which is causing him to become weak and losing weight. It is even hard for him to talk, he can only whisper. I ask that you say a prayer for my uncle, so that if his time is to come soon, it will be an easy passing. I will send a Thinking of You card for sure. Too bad it's been ten years since I last saw him, since I have moved away from my home town. I wish I could thank him in person for what he has done for us. After learing what I have about his service, I can honestly say I will remember him always.
It has been too painful for him to talk about his past but in brief, he was shot down on 3/24/44, crashed in Belgium, was captured, and sent to Stalag Luft IV. He eventually was on the "Death March" in the winter of 1945.
Again, please say a prayer for my uncle.
Regards,
Andy
