This photo is of 1Lt. Chester Wade Lawrence, date unknown but possibly the summer of 1943, he received his commission and wings in February 1943 at Marianna AAF. These P-47's are from a training squadron possibly at Greenville, SC.  Below is a chronology of Chet Lawrence's life.

The approximate date I originally posted of this photo of the summer of 1943 can not be correct. The P-47 he is standing next to is in natural finish which didn't start showing up until the spring of 1944. I also just found out that 1Lt. Lawrence was assigned to the 359th FS, 356FG on November 1, 1944. He was one of thirteen Lieutentants on the special order, all were 2nd Lt.'s except 1Lt. Lawrence.
