P-51 44-15741 - 02/26/2008 02:18:13 PM
P-51 44-15741 was salvaged in March 1945 for damages sustained on 9 Feb 1945.

I wonder if this P-51 was assigned to 364th FG and came down near Ostend, Belgium?
If so, what circumstances caused this loss and who was the pilot?

Thanks for all info,

Leendert
Brugge/Belgium

Leendert:

The aircraft was assigned to the 369th FS/359th FG and coded IV-Y. The forced landing occured at Merville (B-53) with Arnold Mettel at the controls. For whatever reasons the a/c was abandoned on the continent at this field on 9 February 1945.  Ted51
