Alex,

P-47 Florida Gator was 42-28919. It crash-landed at LiÃ¨ge-Bierset on 23 Nov 1944 with pilot Lt Joseph Schultis (safe).
At this time however the P-47 was not with 356th FG anymore, but with 10th ADG/326th FRS.

Mr Alain and Mr Phil had informative posts on this on the 12 O'Clock High website in Nov 2007.
