P-47, 42-7885

hello,
 
this P-47 crashed down on 8.03.1944 near Rahden. I am searching information, specially nickname and pictures of the plane and the pilot, 2ndLt Marcotte.

    This may not be what you are looking for but it will help others to narrow down the search.
     
    42-7885, Republic P-47D-1-RE Thunderbolt, 56th FG, 63rd FS, lost Mar 8, 1944.  (MACR 2849 is given on JB website but that MACR is for 43-6435) Correct MACR for 42-7885 is 2840., John Charles Marcotte, Location, West Of Dummer Lake, Point Of Departure, Halesworth

    I don't have any pictures of the plane, but the pilot was my uncle, Big Bad John Marcotte.  Just talked with him yesterday in fact, and he is pretty well (for an older gentleman).
