P-38 "Little Buckaroo" Info Needed - 09/19/2007 10:25:58 PM
Hello –   I’m having a radio controlled model of a P-38 built and am planning to finish the plane in the “Little Buckaroo” scheme of Maj Robert C "Buck" Rogers, CO of the 392nd FS/367th FGc Peray, France, August 1944.  The model will be entered in several scale contests where proper documentation is required to prove that the finish, detail, markings and any art is exactly like the original airplane.  I will be having custom graphics made that will go on the plane and need to get the size correct for my 1/5th scale model.  I have found one photo of the “Little Buckaroo” P-38 on the web and it will be great for documentation purpose.  Any additional views of the airplane that show other markings and details specific to this particular airplane will be greatly beneficial and much appreciated.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Please contact me if you have any questions or need any further information.      Sincerely,     Brian Reed 8957 East 1150 South Galveston, IN 46932   (574) 699-6349   home   (765) 860-4744   cell     bdreed7@verizon.net

Hello,

Maj Rogers' P38 was destroyed by Robert Dillon of 392nd FS in A44 Le Peray nears Le Mans (France). So he was assigned a new P38 (44-23677, model J25).

I will send you a scan of the page of the Dynamite Gang book dealing with the accident.
