One week to go flying!!!!
Well, my dream of a lifetime is about to come true one week from today. At 5 PM EST on May 23rd, I'll be steeping aboard the Yankee Air Museums B-17G 'Yankee Lady'. This has been my dream for the last 10 years to fly on her and finally I get my chance. The odd part is the fact I despise heights and despise flying even more even tho I LOVE anything aviation related. I had saved up for 3 years to get my ride but when my Veterans Project took off, I used the money for the ride and put it towards the model kits for the Veterans. I figured I'd have plenty of time to save up again but the Veterans didn't have time as a luxury. A family of a Veteran who I built a P-47D for decided to buy my ride in appreciation for my Project. Sort of funny, the guy saying thank you gets a thank you gift himself.
I'll be taking as many photos and video as I can with my cheap little Kodak digital but hopefully you'll get the gist of the event.
I was also informed the Yankee Lady is painted up as a plane of the 381st Bomb Group, the one Bob Gilbert flew in. Small world.
