O'Connor, Robert H Navigator KIA 2 April 1944 - 02/16/2008 04:48:59 PM
Hello,

I came across a picture of 42-38066 "Marishka". The picture shows the navigator's body being taken off the plane. The 2nd BG website lists the navigator as Robert H. O'Connor. The mission was the 2 April 1944 mission to Steyr Austria.  Does anyone know what happened to him?

The photo is a USAF photo. I have no connection to Lt. O'Connor, but after seeing the picture...

Thanks,
Steve

According to the book "The Second was First", Lt. O'Connor was "killed instantly by flak".

Thanks Marty. I found some more images of wounded being taken off Marishka. If anyone is interested I can email them to you or they can be downloaded from footnote.com
