I'm looking for anyone who may remember my father, Lt. Stanley Canner 67th TRG, 12th TRS. He was a P-51 pilot, and on a route recce mission, 14 July 1944, departed Le Molay France (site A-9)  and was shot down and listed as MIA.  He was helped  by  the  French  Underground, and was liberated 25 August 1944. I am preparing his military history, and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have known him. He was interrogated 25 August in Bayeux France, by the British Army. I'd like to know how to get a copy of the recorded interrogation. ...........

Hi Neil,

I personnly am investigating about Skenyon, Leo Francis, who was in the 12TRS at this time; he flow sometimes with Malcolm P. COX (look at www.absa39-45.asso.fr), who's P51 crashed in normandie at june 22th 1944; he lived the same story as your father did.

Skenyon crashed two planes when he was in the 12th TRS; killed in action on november 25th 1944, flying in the 162nd TRS.

Possible that your father was transfered to the 162nd TRS as Skenyon did, when reconstituated as recce squad in september 1944?

Can give more if interested

M.
