New Book - Mission to Tokyo

Mission to Tokyo: The American Airmen Who Took the War to the Heart of Japan by Robert F. Dorr. Due out in September. This should be a GREAT book like Mr. Dorr's previous book Mission to Berlin

I sure hope jsontag is right.

If "MISSION TO TOKYO" appears as scheduled on September 15, I will have three books in print about the Army Air Forces in World War II, including:
"HELL HAWKS" (co-authored with Thomas D. Jones) about a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter group.
"MISSION TO BERLIN" about B-17 Flying Fortress crews.
Anyone with a question about content or wanting to talk to the author should ring me at (703) 264-8950. I am working on a new project now and have signed copies of these three titles available.

    Mr. Dorr,

I can't wait for Mission to Tokyo to come out. That will be one hell of a book. Your books are top notch in my opinion, and I'm sure Mission To Tokyo will be no different. Mission to Berlin was amazing, one of the best reads all year for me anyway.

Thanks again and would love to talk to you sometime,

Bob,  Any preliminary details on "Mission to Tokyo?"  I'd love to review it on this Site as well as on others in which I am involved!  Just finally finished the  509th Remembered which I had picked up two years ago at the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show (TOM) while talking with Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk for about 20 mins. GREAT experience! Unfortunately I loaned it to a B-29 crewman from the Korean Conflict who wanted to "peruse" it...11 months later I got it back still with the bookmark in place from where I had left off!  Also, as an aside, I agree with your comment about acquiring books when they are available which you had posted in another Thread.  I've "lucked out" on some "out-of-print" books over the years, and have found them in unusual places. TTYL...

    Best Regards!

Hi Steven and Mr. Dorr (Bob):  I posted a brief assessment of MISSION TO TOKYO on the book section of the site.  It's nothing elaborate but just a snippet to indicate how I'm enjoying the book--a lot of stuff I didn't know about the campaign.  Even though it's scheduled to be released on the 15th, I got a copy early online from Barnes and Noble.  Well worth it!  Talk to you guys later!
