The plane belong to the 35th Fighter Squadron, 8th Fighter Group.The name of the pilot is 1st Lt. John R. Casey. Thank You: John John Hennessy

Dear John,

That aircraft is still apparently missing, though rumour says the Pilot got out ok. Somewhere near or in the Daintree Forrest north of Cairns,..up near Port Douglas.

I haven't found the serial either,..still unsure of which model (P-400 or P-39D/F) apart from it being a war weary 8thFg Hell's Bell
