Dear All, though on the trail of Donaldson for you, just some additional information on Meyer, or the mission. They departed Doboddra escorting B-25s to Wewak. Under the leadership of Major Smith on the return trip, Meyers was seen ditching 100-150ft off the shore near Murik, north of Karau Lagoon. Pilots who saw a figure wading to the shore, 15 minutes later, he was not seen of again. Confirmed that the aircraft was coded "C". They seemed sure that was the aircraft Meyer flew this day. Engine numbers for the aircraft concerned were :V1710-93 was 42-53778 and V1710-89 was 42-29785 at the time of the loss. Best Gordy
