Need Pilot's Name On A P-40 - 03/01/2006 01:41:13 AM
Could someone please give me the name of the pilot on a P-40, #42-9914, MACR# 461.  The plane  was assigned to the 23th Fighter Group and was lost over China on 7/26/43.   Thank You.   John

I think your man was Lt. Lee Hung-Lin, a Chinese Air Force exchange pilot  assigned to the 75th FS/23rd FG. He was shot up by Ki-43s near Hankow on the date you mention and reportedly force-landed safely in Chinese-held territory.
