Need Information On A P-51 - 03/01/2006 08:22:07 PM
Could someone please give me the name of the pilot on a P-51, #43-6878, MACR# 7267.  The plane was assigned to the 23rd Fighter group and was lost on 8/6/44 over China.   Thank You:   John

John -- The pilot was Lt. Lewis M. Holcomb of the 76th FS, who was lost while dive-bombing at Hengyang on that date. I have the serial number as 43-6875, but 78 could be right.

43-6787 is correct S/N.
