Need Info on 43-27516

I am looking for information on a B-25 shot down over Italy on 25 May 1944. The AC serial number is 43-27516. I would appreciate any help. Richard Ellin was on that plane, and I think he was part of the 489th. Thanks.

May 25, 1944 489th BS
B-25J-1 43-27516, Ship 9W, was shot down over Ficulle, Italy. After being hit, it lost altitude quickly and crashed into the side of a ravine. Five chutes were observed. It was assumed that the pilot, Lt. Ellen tried to land the plane. However, he did in fact jump, and his chute failed to open. The rest of the crew was taken prisoner. The following men were listed as KIA:
Lt. Richard L. ELLEN P
On June 23, the rest of the crew, Lt. King (CP), S/Sgt. Vargo (B) and Sgt. Yocca (RG) returned to base, after having escaped from their captures. Also, S/Sgt Wright (EG) and Sgt. Scott (TG) were taken POW and later also returned.
Lt. Ellin is buried at the National Cemetery in Florence, Italy [plot E, row 4, grave 33]. MACR 5420

Hi Jim,
Thanks so much for the websites. I will check that out immediately. I think I have been in touch with someone from the 57th in the past, I think there was a really nice newsletter. More like a magazine if I remember correctly. I will dig it up again. It 's funny how things seem to tie together. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.
