Need Info On Picture- Lazin Crew

Hi all, I was given the attached picture along with some gunner's wings that came from an estate sale. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. I was in contact with the 6th BG Association, but never heard back from their historian. The picture is of the Lazin crew, I don't know the squadron. The picture and wings were from the estate of Sgt. Unclebach, the right gunner.

Back Row L to R: Lt. Steuwie(sp?), Radar Operator; Sgt. Unclebach, Right Gunner; Lt. King, Navigator; Lt. Lazin, Airplane Commander; Sgt. DeBowno(sp?), Tail Gunner; F/O Head, Co-Pilot.
Front Row L to R: Sgt. Allen, Left Blister; F/O Byers (sp?), Bombardier; Sgt. Reed, Ring Gunner; Sgt. Weber, Radio; Sgt. Carrigan(sp?), Engineer.

The Airplane commander, Dragi C. Lazin, stayed in the USAF, I found mention of him commanding the 305th Rescue Squadron as a Maj. in 1959. He is now deceased. Just curious about what squadron, and any other info on the crew. Thanks.

Tyler

m18hellcat The plane was probably "Ptty Sue." Tail Code CIRC R 14. Dragin's left crew in July 1945 and new A/C was Ramon L. Holzclaw, previosly o-pilot of crew 2408. Don't know why Lazin left--perhaps mission quota completed.

Does anyone know Patty Sue's serial number?

    M18hellcat,
Yup, the crew was assigned to the 24th, their aircraft was "Patty Sue". They used Runway "Dog" at North field on Tinian. My uncle is 2nd from the right on the bottom row. SSgt Bob Weber, radio, who is still alive and doing great. I actually have a copy of this exact picture and one of Patty Sue in flight. The same ones that Phil Crowther has on his 6th Bomb Group website. I do know that the crew received a DFC for their mission over Kobe, I believe it was, in 45. If there is any other questions about the crew or aircraft that Uncle Bob might be able to answer please send them my way.
