Missing details - 08/04/2008 12:59:09 PM
Regarding father, Cecil D Rudder, 8th AF,3rd BD, 45th CBW, 96th BG, 337 Sq.  KIA May 8, 1944.  I have MACR # 4570.  According to Doherty's Snetterton Falcons, he arrived in England in April 1944 and was one of 10 B 17's knocked down on May 8.  Within the narrative of Doherty's text every A/C that was shot down is described at least in part (pilot and some crew are named, and some circumstances) except my fathers.  Father's A/C # was 42-97403.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why that may have been?  Short timer crew, fourth mission?
Any responses are appreciated.
John Rudder

Hi John,

Project Bits and Pieces shows his name as S/Sgt Cecil D. Ruder. He is listed along with the rest of 2Lt Milton Fancher's crew.
