Missing details

Regarding father, Cecil D Rudder, 8th AF,3rd BD, 45th CBW, 96th BG, 337 Sq. KIA May 8, 1944. I have MACR # 4570. According to Doherty's Snetterton Falcons, he arrived in England in April 1944 and was one of 10 B 17's knocked down on May 8. Within the narrative of Doherty's text every A/C that was shot down is described at least in part (pilot and some crew are named, and some circumstances) except my fathers. Father's A/C # was 42-97403. Anyone have any suggestions as to why that may have been? Short timer crew, fourth mission? Any responses are appreciated. John Rudder
