I'm looking for any information on my father Marion L. "Mutt" Cassell.  He passed away in 2002 and I really don't have much information about his military years.  I tried to do some research after he passed away but didn't have much luck.  This weekend I came across some info that he was a member of the 30th Bombardment Group Association. 
 
The letter that I found was dated March 1996 and indicated that the association was disbanding.  Names mentioned in the newsletter are: 1) John Allison; 2) Jim Laney and 3) Walt Hushak.  My father was from Manhattan, Kansas.  I do have his personal "log book" outlining his 40 missions that he flew in the Pacific.  I believe that he was a radio operator and ball turret gunner.
 
I know this isn't much to go on but I'm hoping that someone will reconize his name.  Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

OK as we do not have much to go on, let us
 
Look in his log book, and give me some serials of airplanes he flew in.
 
A typical number would be 42-10437, we need about five serials and that should enable us to track his squadron within the Group.
 
Next have you applied for his records, that too will flow up some leads.
