Jaap Holloman's 3 P-51s were called "Traveler" , he was shot down in IV-H 44-13689 "Traveler III " ( MACR 8648 ) but evaded. Despite the ban on evadees returning to combat he was flying again in Dec. Groseclose was lost in 44-14431 WD--Q on Sept. 11th (probably not his own plane) MACR 8990 ( POW ). The "See me later" series were assigned to Lt. W.B.Eaton also of the 335FS / 4FG , his third and last was "See me later III" which had a skull in flying helmet on the nose; Lt. Ken Green was shot down in this on March 3 1945 ( MACR 12900 ).Serial 44-14923 WD--U. Green no doubt took it over when Eaton finished his tour on Feb. 15th. This is Holloman with his first Mustang, a P-51B. Looks like he's just returned from a mission . Nick

The 4th history "Escort to Berlin" says Groseclose and Paul Iden were shot down by 109s at 11.45 NW of Naumberg between Halle--Erfurt; the bombers target was Halle. Nick

Nick, Thanks ! The List of Losses 1944 by the Dutch Study Group Air War mentions Brakel in the Netherlands for Groseclose...but I think it's Germany. By the way I can't open your attachment. Regards, Paul
