I am looking for anyone with information on my grandfather, Lt. Thomas McCarthy. He was shot down in Tisnov, Czech. in April 45.

Sean,
Do you have a middle initial and exact date of crash?

Dave

Lt. Thomas O. McCarthy, shot down April 16, 1945 over Tisnov.
Crew:
Lt. Rosslyn Anderson
Lt. Robert Beach
Lt. Armando Carlino
S/Sgt. James Tate
S/Sgt. Mack Dias
Sgt. Robert Webber
Sgt. Charles Jones

I have his MACR and know of a few missions with the 492nd in England. I am hoping to learn a little more information.

Thanks.

How do I find the squad or group my father was attached to? His name is Irvin L. Fink 0-2058142, 32nd Bomb Squad, 301st Bombardment Group(H). Thanks to all of you, I have discovered that the (H) stands for Heavy...some paperwork shows Group or Squad #2137th, some say 5th Wing. He spoke of Foggia, Italy often. I have crew photo's, but no planes. His crew #6871 (how does that identify him). He flew 22 sorties from 2 DEC 1944 through 24 APRIL 1945. Any info would be appreciated.

Go back to the Main Forum and down to USAAF Groups by Number to the 300-399 section and click on 301. You can post there and also the top post about Association, Website and Reunions will give you some contacts and links that might help you.
