Lt. Sparrow and Lambsy Divey Crew

Hello all
My Great Uncle was 2nd Lt. Fletcher Barnes who flew with Lt. Robert W. Sparrow (491st BG, 853rd Sq.) on Lambsy Divey (s/n: 44-40170). I've been searching for photos of Lt. Sparrow's plane. It was shot down on 12 September 1944 over Hannover Germany.

Thanks!

Jerry - In your search for photos of LAMBSY DIVEY you may run across this one, which sometimes appears in color. It is a rather well done fake, but a fake nevertheless. It has been around since 2002.

Thanks Al. I'm glad you mentioned its a fake. I do have one original from Henry Morris Jr. which shows a "T8" on the rear side. Would you happen to know the Nose artwork colors?

T8 would be correct for the 853rd. The tail a/c letter was -H. I do not know the colors in the nose art, but offer this detail from the color version of the doctored photo. Whoever did this obviously was familiar with the 491st and Lambsy Divey. Perhaps he got the colors right, but I can't gurantee it.
