Lt. Samuel Hammers P-47D - 07/23/2006 10:30:47 AM
I'm looking for a photo of Lt. Hammer's P-47D of the 90FS.If I remember correctly he is the only ace that came out of the 80 FG.
Being a model airplane builder this will make a different marking other than another 8th AF P-47.

Rick........if you can't find one of Hammer's....I know where there's a photo of the 80th group c/o's razorback "D"  no. "00" in 1945. Got the group insignia on it.
 
BTW    "Ole Miss Lib" was the assigned P-47M of Thomas W Smith . Huff was flying it when the photo was taken.                                                      Regards    Nick

Thanks but I have photo's of P-47 of that Group.I was hoppen I will get lucky and someone said yes.
Worth a try.

Yes your are correct the Schffer book on the Fighter Units & Pilots of the 8th had the wrong name of his P-47 down.
OOps!
Makes it hard to get the facts without photo's and I seen" Ole Miss Lib "photo's before so I should have looked first than go by memory.
