Lt Richard G Candelaria's P51 'My Pride & Joy'

Hi
I'm wondering if anyone has (or can point me in the direction of) any photos of Lt Candelaria's P51K, J2-K, 'My Pride & Joy'?
The only photos i've found to date are in Danny Morris' Aces & Wingmen and only show the nose art.
Ideally i'm looking for a full side profile if such a thing exists?
Thanks
Ashley

I've just looked through the Terry A. Fairfield book and all I have in there is a photo of the man himself. Impressive last mission 1 X 262 and 4 X 109's confirmed (Pages 388 and 390).

Ashley...........Danny did 2 " Aces and wingmen" books, the old original and then Vol.1; the 3rd was done by Bill Hess as Volume 2 and the photo is in this one, but there's a colour drawing of the whole plane in the middle.
Have you seen this ?

Hi Nick
Yes I have seen the colour profile in Volume 3 (or is it 2?) but am not sure if it is based on a known photo or a 'best guess' by the artist.
I'm currently working on some decals for the 'lesser known' fighter groups and am trying to include all the high scorers where possible.
Regards
Ashley

Ashley      as far as I know these are the only 2 shots of J2--K, but the colour drawing is almost certainly correct; the 479th had the least colourful markings of any Eighth fighter group only having squadron colour rudders and sometimes on the lip intakes plus a polished spinner. It's right in having the serial removed, a most unfortunate practice usually. The photos were no doubt taken before his victories were confirmed hence not marked on the canopy, the favoured location in this group.
Not much to put on a decal sheet !
Incidentally the second "Aces and Wingmen" book was Danny's VOL.1 and Bill's was VOL.2.

To bad there is not much out there on the 479th .
Those decals will be interesting and I hope you let us know when there out.

Rick & Ashley -
About 5-6 years ago , a 479th FG History Book was
Published. I looked through it at Powells Books in
Portland , OR.  It was a Large - Oversize , seemed to
have a lot of Info and Pictures.

I think that is the Terry A. Fairfield book printed by Schiffer Publishing.

link to a photo of the cover.
Has many photo's of the434 FS but 435FS & 436 FS not as many.
Still excellant book.
I'm interested in the 436 FS.
