Lt. Ray A. Boyd Jr. 359th Fighter Group/368 Fighter Squadron - 04/13/2008 01:01:37 PM
Dear readers,

I need help in a special case:
Some weeks ago we found the crash site of Lt. Ray A. Boyd Jr. P51D10 (359th Fighter Group/368 Fighter Squadron) near Cologne. We found clear evidence at the site, so that we are 100% save that this site is the one of him

Informations about his crash:
On 24 December 1944, he was hit by an FW190 near Cologne and ended up as a PoW in Stalag Luft 1 at Barth.  At the time he was flying his assigned P-51D 44-14329 CV-X "Mildred".  The MACR number is 11074.
The mission was to escort B-17 bombers attacking airfields at Hattenrod.
His service number was O-763474

Did anyone know him or could tell me whether he is still alive / can give me a contact address of him or his family?

I´m looking also for a picture of him because we will publish his case in our next book.

Any information helps!!

THANKS FRANK
