Hi all
I am looking for full name of Lt Porter, MIA/KIA? June 21, 1944, that was shot doen on his P-51 43-12300? The serial of the plane may be incorrect as well as I cannot locate MACR 6666 that should be reporting about this loss. Anyone can help? Of course photo of this pilot would be extremely interesting for me. Thanks

Peter,

Not the pilot but the P-51 with the tail number you provided extracted from www.swissmustangs.ch/index2.html to which all credit is given.

'300 is a training aircraft so I don't think this is the aircraft your Lt. Porter was flying in combat on June 21, 1944.

Thanks Huey. I was aware of this photo, but thought it may be before the loss..did not know this was training a/c.
My information about plane and pilot comes from Osprey book on 354.FG. Also MACR 6666 is hard to localize...so a lot of mysteries??
Can anyone tell what plane was Lt. Porter lost on June 21, 1944?
