Lt. Nelson, 53rd Sqdn; Request for Info
-

Just yesterday I found notes of my Dad's indicating that a Lt. Nelson of the 53rd Sqdn. (no further information) took moving pictures of my Dad's C-47 # 806 that went down on 18 Sept 1944 near LZ "T" just outside Groesbeek (Operation Garden Market). Apparently, and according to my Dad's handwritten notes, Lt. Nelson was able to get moving photos from the time his aircraft was hit until it crash landed in a field. My Dad, Lt. Donald W. Cox, was the pilot at the time, and he and his crew evaded the Germans and returned to England safely days later. Would anyone know of Lt. Nelson or the existence of such film? Sounds like a long shot but I have had some great success in finding needles in haystacks here. Thank you again.
