Recieved below email and first thought was to post here. If any of you are able to assist Dale it would be greatly appreciated. His email address is kdaleu@comcast.net Thank you, Howard Keller Note: Edit was posting of picture ************************************************************** Howard, The author, Carl Molesworth has e-mailed me the attached as the aircraft my Uncle Hoyle was flying when he was shot down. He identified the serial number on the picture with a jeweler's loop as being the same plane. The plane was normally flow by Lt. Frederick M. Bear. You may also see the nickname of the plane painted above the engine manifold as "The Cub" for bear cub. I have wanted to find Lt. Bear's family to share this picture of his plane that my Uncle Hoyle was killed in. Can you provide any assistance? Please feel free to e-mail. Thank you! Quick search at ancestry.com gave two hits. From SSDI records: Name: Frederick M. Bear SSN: 342-18-6494 Last Residence: 33770 Largo, Pinellas, Florida, United States of America Born: 15 Sep 1922 Died: 15 Jun 2000 State (Year) SSN issued: Illinois (Before 1951 ) Also a divorce record. Frederick M Bear Muriel L Bear Jul 1959 Sarasota I'll look through some old Jing Bao Journals from around the time of his death and see if Fred Bear is listed.
