I just had a phone call from a second cousin of Lt. McMahon who has been searching for years for information on him.  He connected with another thread on this board and tracked me down. His name is Larry.

He's anxious to connect with some single post folks on the Lt. McMahon threads and with the source (was it you Micky) of the memorial service photos.  I had them but lost them in a hard drive crash.

He was also able to provide information that after the war Lt. McMahon's body was reinterred next to his parents in a cemetary in Endicott, Washington a small town about 50 miles SW of Spokane, Washington.  He said the list of folks in the Endicott cemetery is listed on line and you can access it.

Even more incredible he said that the dog Mike that Lt. McMahon spoke of just before he crashed was a wire haired terrier and that Lt. McMahon's parents were able to get the dog sent from Italy back to the U.S. and that when he was a boy Larry used to walk Mike in Memorial Day and Veteran's Day parades in Lt. McMahon's honor.  Pretty cool stuff.

Anyhow, hopeful some of the pictures of the memorial dedication ceremony are still out there to be shared.  Happy to put anyone interested in Lt. McMahon in touch with Larry.

Thanks Mike,

I did tell Larry about the book, not knowing if it mentioned Lt. McMahon since most of his service was with the 4th FS 52nd FG.  Figured it would give the flavor of the times if nothing else.

Thoughtful of you, thanks.
