Looking for photos of "The Argonia"

Hi, I'm trying to find as much wartime photos of this famous C-47 as I can before I start building my model. I also have some questions about this particular plane: -what is the exact version of this airplane -is the machine at St Mere Eglise a restored example, or the original thing? Regards, Aleksandar

Alek, You need to buy Col. Young's book, Into the Valley. The SME C-47 is restored AS the Argonia and was done so with some direction from Col. Young.

So, the machine at SME is an accurate reproduction?

Note that the original Argonia had a ventral radome for its navigation radar. Believe the restored one may not have this. Check also that it has the correct antenna fit. A color side view of the Argonia is in the Osprey volume on C-47s in the ETO/MTO.
