Looking for information SSGT James Robert (Bob) Strain, What little I can find out he was with the subject Unit. I believe he may have been with one of the ASG's, Drove refueling truck. Would have made MSGT if would have re-enlisted. Was a typical farm boy from southern Missouri.

The data I have is there was a T/SGT James R. Strain, 37077195, with the 15th Bomb Squadron, 16th Bomb Group. That's all I can find right at the moment. I have microfilm copies of the 16th BG official history. Next time I get it out, I'll attempt to find an MOS or any other data. It may be a while!

If you haven't already, if you visit the web page for the 315th, I have transcribed most of the official histories narrative of the 16BG from July 44 to July 45. They don't mention many names, other than officers of the Group, but at least you would be able to see some more info relating to the 16th BG. As a side note, George Reedy, who wrote most of the histories for the 16th BG, later in life, was the Press Secretary for President Lyndon Johnson.
