Looking for info on Irv McLeod - 01/18/2008 04:34:34 PM
My name is Carolyn and my father was Irving McLeod.  I am looking for any information I can find on his military days.  I have little to go by, but know he flew B-24's, and B-25's. He was in Italy in 1945.  I believe he was with  the 450th bomb group, and the 461st bomb group.  Any information I can get would be greatly appriciated.

Information is from 461st BG Web Site:
http://www.461st.org

There are two bombardiers listed with this crew, and 12 crewmembers total so two may have been transfered or rotated out.

I believe I have seen your father's name in one or more mission summaries, but I am not sure. You will have to comb them. Look under "Missions" after May 7, 1945.

Now at you have his Serial Number and know some of the men on his crew in the 461st. As a pilot, he had to have been at least a 1st Lt. in rank.

Best of luck in finding out more.
