I also found that he was a Commander for the 58th Fighter Group. You’ll find more info on this page: http://www.armyairforces.com/dbgroups.asp?Group=80It’s amazing what you can find on this GREAT site ArmyAirForces.Com.  Go to the research tab at the top of this page and just play around with it. If I can learn to use these pages, anyone can! Good luck in your search

The particular Ed Roddy about whom you inquire is my dad.

He's still kicking, just finished a PBS project on the Mexican Air Force in WWII.  I recently had a gentleman in my office who mentioned that his dad's friend in Mexico City had flown P-47s in WWII out of New Guinea.

Small world.

That's his plane, but not him in the picture.  Any idea who it is, or shall I ask my dad?

Matt,
After looking through the book "No Glamour, No Glory", I' ve found there is way too much info on Col. Roddy  for me to copy.  I suggesr you contact Taylor Publishing Co. of Dallas, Texas to get a copy of the book.  It was written by
Anthony Kupferer.
      Good luck.
