Looking for The Baroness or Fever From The South nose art photo. - 04/23/2003 12:02:29 PM
i'm interested in procuring/purchasing a clear photo or a emailed digital quality pic of nose art from either "the baroness" or "fever from the south", my grandfather piloted both of these planes and i would appreciate any leads if not actual images.

Hi. My area of expertise is with the 444th BG (58th BW), so I don't have a photo for you unfortunately. However, I'm sure someone out there does. Check this site: http://b-29.org/ Look for the 73rd BW information on the menu at the left (there's a lot of good 73rd info. here). Also, join the mailing list and ask your question there- we're all glad to help, & if anyone knows anything they'll let you know. "Ding Hao!" (very best), Bill Howe [signature]

My uncle (now deceased) was James M. Stanfield and he was the right gunner on "The Baroness" (Z41).  I inherited all of his pictures when he died and I have a very good photograph of the crew posing in front of "The Baroness".  I have included a scanned copy of the picture.  Let me know if I can be of further service.
