Location of Hispano Suiza (Paris, France area) in 15 Sept 43 - 08/19/2008 03:36:28 PM
Anyone know the location of the target Hispano Suiza Aero-engine Works on 15 Sept 43. Have tried Google Maps and the satellite image but when I search Hispano Suiza I get two different location. None of which show the area which matches map of target area in MACR.   Have photos of  before during and after attack and have  tried matching them to area.  Also trying to determine direction of attack. Believe it was South/ Eastward.

Thanks
Berk

Berk -
The 388th BG with 96th BG as Lead Group was on this Mission.
The 388th BG Book just Notes the HS Engine Works was in an
Industrial Section of Paris.
It also Notes the C.A.M. Ball Bearing Works may have been hit ,
so maybe another point of reference.
Also - Report Notes the Formation crossed Channel Near
Dieppe on Route to Target.
I Emailed Alain to see if he can provide any info.
Also , You could contact the 388th BG Historian Dick Henggeler
to see if he could pin it down. rlhengg@comcast.net

Thanks  Mike,
Joe sent me a photo image of the  La Garenne-Colombes area which matched the photos I have from NARA II of before, during and after the attack. I went online to Google Maps and  was able to fine the same image. It appears that the target Hispano Suiza was at La Garenne. I have emailed the 388th bomb group that you mentioned.

Thanks again
Berk
