Hello :-) Lorraine....A suggestion....can you tell us what Unit he flew with and what Theater ?.....C-46 and C-47 flew in all theaters in WW II...The ETO, MTO, CBI and Pacific. Do you have any information as to where and what time frame he flew as well as any Unit Designation and which Theater. Please inform us with as much background as you have available....Is he still living...if not, where is his grave located? Is there any information on the gravestone marker that would give a clue as to which unit he served with ? Is there any memorabilia still existing such as letters home,(there should be a return address such as XXX Group, YYY Squadron...and an APO number). See alot of stateside orders for school training, etc., then everthing goes "restricted" which is where I'm sure he went to New Guinea. I even have his flight "to and From " Log books, which he abbreviated and looks like sanscrit to me.. Lorraine...Please go to the top of this page and look for Units db....then in the Group Search type in 374 and continue..there will be a History of the 374th available and also in the message section there is one message.
