Hi All, On september 8th 1944 a L5 was shot down by FW190 and ditched in the river Meuse at Ivoz-Ramez, near Laneuville bridge. ( Liège /Huy area) Could it be this one: Markings: 8*R - Serial unknown 67th TRG,153rd LS Pilot: S/Sgt Mikeman Keneth C,18129164, KIA, buried at Neupré cemetary Belgium Passenger or observer:Col.Thornberry.Don't know whether KIA or not. Not in ABMC Data base. If it's not this a/c, which one could it be? Thanks a lot Philippe

Philippe, Ken Wakefield writes in his great book 'The Fighting Grasshoppers' : 'On the 9th Staff Sergeant Kenneth C. Mikeman, who volunteered for a flight to a Third Army division carrying a Colonel Thornberry, encountered 12-15 Bf 109 fighters and was shot down near Reiet, Belgium. Both pilot and passenger in the L-5 were killed.'
